CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS

Comprehensive testing to understand mental, cognitive, and emotional health. 

We offer a full complement of adult clinical neuropsychological assessment services. Neuropsychological evaluations are designed to assess conditions that affect cognitive (e.g., thinking, memory, attention, decision-making, language, visual skills), behavioral (i.e., how people function in their everyday lives), and emotional functioning (e.g., mood, anxiety, apathy) by interviewing clients about their background, reviewing medical records, and administering standardized tests.

Beacon Neuropsychology offers neuropsychological and psychological assessment to adults for a wide range of conditions, including, but limited to: 

• Mild Cognitive Impairment

• Dementia / Neurodegenerative Disorders (e.g., Alzheimer's Disease)

• Parkinson’s Disease and other Movement Disorders

• Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders

• Brain Tumor or Cancer

• Neurotoxic Exposure

• Stroke

• Anoxic Injury

• Neurological Disorders

• Demyelinating Diseases (e.g., Multiple Sclerosis)

• Central Nervous System (CNS) Infection (e.g., meningitis, encephalitis)

• Post-Concussive Syndrome (sports-related concussion, or from car accidents, falls, etc.)

• Acquired or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

• Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Neuropsychological evaluations can help support clients and their families by:

• Clarifying diagnoses and helping individuals and their families better understand how a diagnosis can impact thinking, learning, and behavior.

• Assessing for cognitive changes in older adults and assisting families to plan for the future or navigate long-term care options.

• Understanding the impact of mood or attentional disorders on functioning over time.

• Making specific recommendations for treatment or interventions to maximize success and everyday functioning.

Services are primarily provided in-person at one of our Southern California locations (Solana Beach, Encinitas, San Juan Capistrano). For clients who are unable to travel to our office or who live in other parts of California, we also offer assessments via telehealth. However, current guidelines state that Medicare patients must have their first visit in person. Please note that Medicare patients are seen at our Solana Beach location. 

Other patients can be see at any location and are private pay, as we do not participate in other insurance panels other than Medicare + supplemental insurance. Please send us an inquiry for our current out-of-pocket rates. We are happy to provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement depending on your insurance policy.
